Hey! I'm the girl in green, the artist behind Sumthin Green. I'm an art education major at the University of Northern Colorado. I specialize in character design, illustration, and craft design. I spend my free time making arts and crafts of all kinds.Sumthin Green is committed to bringing a little more color and personality to everyday things. Whether that's in a decoration for your car, an accessory to your outfit, or piece of art on your wall, my goal is to bring more fun to your daily life in both simple and unconventional ways.

Commissioning me
Outside of my online shop and vendor booth, you can buy custom work from me directly. All information about the types of commissions I do are in the sections below. The client (you) must read through the information of the type of art you'd like to buy, and my payment T.O.S.

1. Drawings
Ordering a custom drawing ranges in price from $5-$150+ depending on the complexity, time, etc. Please take your time to read through the TOS and contact the artist if you have any questions.

1.1.1 Refusal of Requests
The artist (me) reserves the right to decline any commission for any reason. A few examples are listed below but refusal is not limited to these examples.1. The artist can decline any NSFW or gore request that is too detailed, graphic or out of the artist's skillset.
2. The artist can decline any animal requests, depending on the species, context, and complexity of the request.
3. The artist can decline any political art that goes against their moral and ethical beliefs.
1.2 General Prices
Ordering a custom drawing ranges in price from $5-$150+ depending on the complexity, medium, time and materials. All the prices below are estimates of what a piece of work would cost. Prices can increase due to various circumstances.
1.2.1 Headshots
Headshots are drawings of a subject from the shoulders or mid-chest up.

Sketches range from $5-10.
Sketches are often finished with clean line art included with no extra cost. However, if the client would like their order to look sketchy, the client must inform the artist.

Flat color ranges from $8-16.
The client can request minor cell shading for no additional cost.

Rendered art ranges from $10-25
The price may increase due to difficulty, species of subject, lighting/scene in the art, NSFW, gore, complexity, etc. Price increases will be properly discussed with the client.
1.2.2 Half-Shots
Half-shots are drawings of a subject from the waist or mid-thigh up.

Sketches ranges from $10-15
Sketches are often finished with clean line art included with no extra cost. However, if the client would like their order to look sketchy, the client must inform the artist.

Flat color ranges from $12-18
The client can request minor cell shading for no extra cost.

Rendered art ranges from $15-30
The price may increase due to difficulty, species of subject, lighting/scene in the art, NSFW, gore, complexity, etc. Price increases will be properly discussed with the client.
1.2.3 Full Body
Full body drawings show most, if not all of the subject's body.

The price may increase due to difficulty, species of subject, lighting/scene in the art, NSFW, gore, complexity, etc. Price increases will be properly discussed with the client.
1.3 Add-Ons
Add-Ons are extra details in the art you can buy for an additional price.
1.3.1 Backgrounds

Basic backgrounds can be added with no additional cost. The client can choose a color and minor details like vignette, small doodles on the side, etc.

Complex backgrounds will range from an extra $10-30+ depending on the complexity and scenery
(for example. this background would cost $20)
1.3.2 Extra Subjects
Extra subjects added in the art will increase the original price by the amount of extra subjects.
ex. if the client orders a headshot sketch of 3 subjects, it will cost $15-30. This also applies to ordering multiple shots of the same subject.
1.3.3 Character Sheets

Just like adding extra subjects, the amount of subjects the client wants in their character sheet will determine how much the price is multiplied.
(Ex. adding up a full body, half-shot, headshot, and one detail shot would cost around $65)
1.3.3.1 Detail Icons
Detail icons are small drawings in the character sheet to show details about a character like clothes, weapons, body parts, etc.

Detail icons range from $5-10 as a sketch or flat color
Rendered detail icons range from $7-12

1.3.3.2 Character text
Character text includes any text the client wants on their character sheet. This can describe backstory, appearance details, etc. This comes at no extra cost, however the client must send the artist the text you want included. The artist will not write text for the client.
If too much text is provided, the artist will talk with the client about removing text.

2. Crochet
Ordering a custom crochet piece ranges in price from $5-$200+ depending on the complexity, time and materials. Please take your time to read through the TOS and contact the artist if you have any questions.

2.2 Prices
Ordering a custom crochet piece ranges in price from $5-$200+ depending on the complexity, time and materials. All the prices below are estimates of what a piece of work would cost.
Crochet work varies a lot in material, size, subject and time. There are no specific prices for custom products. Prices listed are estimates of specific requests the client can make.
2.2.1 Custom Changes to a Current Product
Sumthin Green sells many different crochet pieces.
If the client would like to order a product in a different color, the price will not change from the original listed price.
If the client would like to change the yarn type to a softer yarn, the price will multiple by 1.5x-2x depending on the price of the yarn.
If the client would like to change a product from softer yarn to regular yarn, the price will not change from the posted price.
Adding extra details might increase the price. The artist will notify the client of any price increases.
2.2.2 Custom request
If the client would like me to make something that the artist does not already sell as a listed product, the client must provide specific details depending on the request.
The client must provide a pattern for what they want the artist to make. The client can provide one from online, or pick one of the patterns the artist owns upon request.
If the client chooses a pattern that is not free, the pattern price will be added onto the total cost.
ex. If the client would to commission a cat plush, the client can ask what patterns the artist already has, or can search for one online and provide it to the artist.

3.2 General prices

4. Contracting
Sumthin green is available for hire as a concept artist and comic book artist. Working with the artist as a long term client is different than ordering a commission. Please take the time to review the TOS below.

4.1.1 Refusal of requests
The artist (me) reserves the right to decline any commission for any reason. A few examples are listed below but refusal is not limited to these examples.

2. The artist can decline any political art that goes against their moral and ethical beliefs.
4.2 Requirements
In the following stated, is the requirements the artist needs from the client, as a contractor. As well as rules/requirements as the artist.
4.2.1 Client Requirements
To hire Sumthin Green as a long term artist, the client needs to have the following provided or the offer will be rejected
1. Clearly stated payment information including wage/rates, how the client plans on paying, how often, hourly wage or per artwork, etc.
2. A well explained definition on the project the client are hiring the artist for. Talk about what the project is, who else is working on it, its plot/purpose, when is it aimed to be public, etc.
3. Clearly stated rules/requirements for the client's project(s). This includes documents like an NDA.
4. If the client is making a project with a specific style (marvel comics, manga, etc.), the client should mention it in their proposal.
4.2.2 My Rules
5. The artist will not accept any payment lower than the posted rates below, unless properly discussed with the artist.
6. The artist will not provide any example or test work for free. Practice, tests, examples and other art can be provided after the contract has been signed.
7. The artist will not do sketch work for comic books or panels, outside of minor additions and changes.
8. Rates apply separately. If the client is hiring the artist to do line work and coloring, the client must pay for both line work and coloring. If the client pays for shaded coloring, the client does not have to pay for the non-shaded coloring rate.
9. If the client hires the artist to do line art and color (shaded or non shaded), both rates must either be per page or per hour. The client cannot mix payment types.
10. The client cannot hire the artist to work one page at a time without contract for regular commission rates.
11. The artist can include backgrounds during line work and or coloring. The client must provide a sketch of the background desired, if it has not been included in the initial sketch. The artist will not draw or design backgrounds.
12. Under an NDA contract, the artist will not disclose any information about the project, nor show any art made for it to any unauthorized person.
4.3 Rates
Rates are posted in 2 different options, per page and per hour. This choice is up to the client. The artist reserves the right to decline either option if difficulties or circumstances come up.
If the client choses the hourly rate option, the artist will keep track of the time it takes to finish the work (with proof included) and calculate the cost owed. This does not allow for "wage-farming" and the time calculated for the hourly rate will not include idle time, or time away from the art.

Comic Book Line-Artist
$40 per page
$20 per hour
Hiring the artist to do line work means the artist will draw line-art over provided sketches. This also can include cross hatching and block shading upon request.

Comic Book Colorist [no shading]
$40 per page
$20 per hour
Hiring the artist as a colorist means the artist will color in provided line art (or line art the artist has made) with flat colors.

Examples provided are not examples of contracted work.
Comic Book Colorist [shading included]
$70 per page
$25 an hour
Hiring the artist as a colorist with shading means the artist will color in provided line art (or line art the artist has made) and shade the work completely.

5. Payment and T.O.S.
In each TOS section, information about each medium is included with certain rules that do not apply to other mediums. This T.O.S. page applies to all commission types unless stated otherwise.
5.1 Disclaimers
- Clients are not permitted to use any commissioned work from Sumthin Green. This can include copies of work, resale, cryptocurrency, branding logos, advertisements, and any other form of unauthorized usage, unless the client has commissioned a contract (see section 4) or has paid the fee for commercial use.
- Any artwork made by Sumthin Green may not be used to train artificial intelligence.
- Clients are not permitted to trace over artwork or claim my work as their own
5.2 User Agreement
By purchasing the artist's services, the client has automatically agreed to this TOS and the TOS of the type of commission the client has purchased.
This agreement may be reconfirmed in private communication.Disagreeing to my Terms Of Service results in ineligibility to purchase a commission.
5.3 General
The artist (me) reserves the right to decline any commissions for any reason. Specific reasons may be listed as examples but refusal is not limited to these reasons.
5.4 Commercial Use
If the client wishes to use the commissioned artwork in any commercial use, a price increase will be applied to the final cost. This will be discussed in private conversation and will come to an agreement.
Commercial use is defined as using any artwork for advertisement, branding, merchandising in any public or private setting.
Posting the artwork on social media without any commercial benefit does not count as commercial use, as long as proper credit is provided.Depending on the commercial use of the artwork, the price will increase differently.Commercial use price increases does not apply to work I've made in a contracted work (See section 4). However, it should be disclosed if the contracted work will be used for commercial use.
5.4.1 Level 1 commercial use
Level 1 usage will increase the artwork's total price by 2x.Level 1 usage includes social media promotion, non-profit organization branding (clubs, discord servers, etc.), discord stickers/emojis, twitch badges, thumbnails, icons.
5.4.2 Level 2 commercial use
Level 2 usage will increase the artwork's total price by 2.5x.Level 2 usage includes Patreon/paywall content, profitable branding (business, social media, marketing), business cards, personal website.
5.4.3 Level 3 commercial use
Level 3 usage will increase the artwork's total price by 4x.Level 3 usage includes reproduction and selling of artwork.
5.5 Payment
USD is the only accepted form of payment outside of bartering (See section 5.6).Payment must be deposited 100% up front or 50% up front and 50% after the confirmed sketch (does not apply to sketch drawing commissions or hourly wage contracted work).The client is responsible for any transaction mistakes made on the client's part. Any mistakes on my part will be taken care of accordingly.Payment can be accepted through PayPal, CashApp, Venmo, or Cash (if applicable). See section 5.6 for bartering options.Clients are not required to pay PayPal fees. As per PayPal TOS, the fees will be covered by me unless stated otherwise by the client.The Client is responsible for paying taxes and shipping fees that may be applied to final cost.
5.6 Bartering
Bartering in exchange for my services is accepted. Discussion on what will be bartered must take place before the commission and accepted by me before the commission starts.Accepted bartering can cover the cost of the commission, or it can discount the commission, to which the client is responsible for paying the rest in USD.

5.7 Refund Policy
I offer different forms of refunds for different types of commissions. Please take the time to read the refund policy for the commission you have ordered.
The client will be notified of project completion by the artist.
5.7.1 Drawing Refunds
100% payment refunds can be offered if the artist has not started on the work.
If the sketch has already been started, 80% of the payment can be refunded.
After the sketch has been completed, no refunds are offered.
In the case that the artist must cancel the order, 100% of the payment will be refunded, and any fees will be reimbursed.
5.7.2 Crochet and Jewelry Refunds
100% payment refunds can be offered if the artist has not started on the work.
If the project has been started but is under 25% completed, 80% of the payment can be refunded.
If the project is more than 25% completed, refunds will not be offered.
The artist will keep in touch with you, and send the client photos of the work as it is being made. The artist will inform the client when the project is 25% completed and make any changes requested by the client.
If the client has already received the finished product and requests a refund, the client can be refunded 70% of the payment. The client must return the product to the artist through mail. The client is not required to pay shipping fees. Any shipping fees will be reimbursed to the client with the initial refund payment. Proper proof of shipping fees is required to be shown to the artist before being reimbursed.
5.7.3 Contract Refunds
100% payment refunds can be offered if the artist has not started on the work.
If the artist is working at an hourly rate, the artist will provide the amount of time spent on the project prior to the refund being requested. The client will pay what is owed to the artist, depending on time spent on the project. The payment owed can be rounded down to the nearest dollar.
If the artist is being paid per page, the work must be under 25% completed for 80% of the payment to be refunded. If the work is over 25% completed, refunds will not be offered and the client will receive the latest version of the project.
